Jeff Violette
ACTOR
Jeff Violette is one of the most versatile actors in the vertical industry, playing both leading men and memorable villains. He can do comedy, romance, and action, as well as being one of the nicest guys you could meet.
What do you do in the Vertical Industry?
I'm a Billionaire, CEO, Painter, and Lawyer who also occasionally attempts the kidnapping of an ex wife.
How did you come across Vertical Dramas?
I had some friends who were actors in a few productions and liked them. I saw a casting for one, auditioned, was lucky enough to land a role. I had a blast, and didn't look back.
What is your favourite project you have worked on so far?
Each project is so much fun for its own reasons. I honestly can say that I have never had a project where I wasn't excited to go to "work".
Everyone has been so amazing to work with, so I'm not sure I could narrow it down. I have amazing memories from all of them. Both "The Billionaire’s Matchmaker" and "Falling for a Superstar" had an amazing cast and crew who made each day a blast. And an unreleased project with Kyra was a great time as she dragged me around Lithuania every night after we wrapped. But each one holds its own unforgettable memories.
What is the craziest thing you have found yourself doing while working on a vertical?
Neela and I found ourselves fully clothed in a swimming pool for over 5 hours filming for an unreleased project. It was heated so I really can't complain.
Any funny stories you can share with us?
Each project has its moments. We all try to keep the mood light as there really is a "We're all in this together" mentality on these projects. We spend more than half the day together while filming,so we always have to have a good sense of humor.
Who is your unsung hero? Someone in the industry who should get more credit?
The true heroes are everyone that the audience doesn't see. Actors get a lot of the credit because we're the ones you see. But there is a whole team of incredibly talented people working tirelessly, who show up before us and leave after us, making sure we look our best, are on schedule, and of course have all the snacks we could want.
What do you wish more people knew about verticals?
I know it's a common theme in these interviews, but the pace and schedule at which we shoot these series are fast...real fast. Everyone needs to be on their game in order to stay on schedule. You really only get 1-2 takes of a scene, unless you're really lucky and get 3. So you really need to be prepared for each day in order to not fall behind.
What developments would you like to see in the industry in the year ahead?
I would love the stories to expand into a few other genres. I am excited seeing that there are new storylines and themes being experimented with.
What are you most proud of?
I flipped my life upside down at the age of 28. I moved across the country and gave up a career that had a pension, benefits, bonuses, the whole nine yards to try something new, and I'm glad I did. I have gotten to experience so much since then, and made memories and friends that will stick with me for life. (So if you're on the edge of trying something new and taking a chance, here's your sign to go for it).
Which vertical actor would you like to play you in the biopic of your life?
I think I'd have to bring in a few of them for auditions to have them read a scene for me before I could make a final decision.
